Pablo, by Shepard Fairey.
I attended Pablo’s funeral yesterday, and had the honor of visiting the Castelaz’s home, where Jeff showed us beautiful photographs, told us stories, and even took us into Pablo’s bedroom, where the art the six-year-old had collected from restaraunts and galleries and street artists hung on the walls.   The love and courage and strength that flowed through Jeff, Jo Ann and Grady (Pablo’s older brother) were wrenchingly beautiful; of the hundreds who attended - some of whom had never met the Castelazes - not one person left without wondering how they could improve their lives and contribute to the happiness of those around them.

Pablo
Pablo is the son of our friends Jeff and Jo Ann. He died of cancer on Saturday, just a few days after his sixth birthday. As parents it is impossible for me and Amanda to imagine facing what Jeff, Jo Ann, and Pablo faced courageously. There is a moving diary of Pablo’s battle with cancer at getwellpablo.blogspot.com. Yes, we all know that cancer affects a huge number of people, but what you see at this blog is a very compelling demonstration that cancer can strike anyone, any age, and no amount of love can cure what science has no cure for yet. People like Pablo remind us why cancer research is so important. You can find out more and make a donation to the Pablove Foundation here: www.pablove.org/donate.html.
We miss you Pablo.

I know how the whole stalking process can get to be a
little tedious when you’re stuck waiting for hours.

It’s instant awesome cos it’s Pokemon.
It gets bonus points for feat. Obama.

Re: Acting like girls

Thanks, but we’ve got that covered.  So, like, stop.

Sincerely,

Us.

Ethan: So, about that Nelson laugh you posted…

Me: Isn’t that awesome?  It’s like, the one thing I remember that my theory teacher said ten years ago or something.

Ethan: It’s a fourth.

Me: SHUT UP!

Ethan: No, here, listen (plays a fourth on piano in living room).

Me: FUCK.

Ethan: Let me find you a better tritone video (skitters around on youtube for a second).  Oh, shit!  Never mind.  This is way better…

Nikki - the plan for the shot is that we’re having Fitzy dressed as a diver, either scuba or snorkel with Nay dressed as a mermaid.

Call me if you have any questions.

This was in my inbox.

Hahaha!

Just now, I suddenly began laughing uncontrollably at something that happened in my head.

In 2006, while shooting a band called Irving, the bassist - Alex - told me about a new project he was working on, called Sea Wolf.

“Two bands?  And you work full time?” I gasped.  “How do you do it all?”

Future me, now present me, is pointing and laughing at past me.

…and now I’m going to have to get back to scheduling photo shoots, retouching sessions, band practice, band practice, recording, writing, promotion, hustling for new work, showering, eating, sleeping, dating, feeding Jack London, cleaning, billing, returning phone calls and emails, and increasing my tumblarity, which is currently 1.
